JD JazzDoctor was one of the original show hosts from the early days of Freeze Frame Radio.
From 2003- 2010, JD provided Sunday live night programming for the station with an hour of punk and alternative music (Underground 80’s), 2 hours of jazz, soul, blues and funk (Jazz 101), and then an hour of the weirdest music from the station music archive (College Daze Revisited). This programming added a great variety to our usual programming, and drew in both new listeners and many of the weekday station regulars to turn them on to a larger variety of music as they wound down their weekends.
As local Milwaukee broadcast stations switched away from Jazz formatting during this time, JD proudly took the helm to keep jazz on the air in the area from the new vehicle of internet radio broadcasting. He was proud to step into the Milwaukee jazz broadcasters helm and continue to bring this music airing from Milwaukee to a world-wide audience. Along the way he made some great friends with jazz musicians from around the world, as he helped bring their music to the masses.
JD has proudly returned to Freeze Frame Radio in 2017 to contribute a monthly podcast of his new show “The Jazz Hour”. Tune in to Freeze Frame Radio and check their Facebook page for airing times!
